Defendant “Gan Li” Countercharges “Eli Lilly” for Patent Infringement in Insulin Patent Case

While the patent case of Pfizer’s “VIAGRA” has not been calmed down, the World Pharmacy Giant “Eli Lilly Company” has been involved in another patent dispute. On July 17, according to the first Finance and Commerce Daily, Beijing Ganli Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.(hereafter referred as Ganli) has brought “Eli Lilly Company” to court for patent infringement in “Humalog” reconstructing insulin lispro. Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court will hold a court on 25 July 2006. One year ago, however, it was Eli Lilly Company who acted as the plaintiff against Ganli.
