“Patent Protection and Promotion Provisions of Beijing Municipal” has come into force as of October 1, 2005.

In order to enhance the development environment of the capital and drive the sustainable, rapid and balanced development of its economy, Beijing Municipal has begun to draft “Patent protection and Promotion Provisions of Beijing Municipal” since 2004 and passed it at the 12th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth Beijing People's Congress on May 20, 2005. On October 1, 2005, “Patent protection and Promotion Provisions of Beijing Municipal” has come into force. These provisions include 38 articles and as the first local provisions Beijing Municipal enacted in the field of intellectual property, the provisions will enhance intellectual property protection environment in Beijing.
